Cruises and Tours departing from Paihia, Check-in at the Salt Air Office, located next to the maritime building at the Paihia Wharf.

If you have a prearranged pickup from Russell, wait next to the Russell Information Centre at the end of the Russell Wharf.

Water Taxis – Wait at the meeting location given on your confirmation emails.

Island Getaway and Afternoon Getaway Tours:
We provide all snorkelling, paddleboarding and beach equipment.

We recommend bringing:
Light Jacket
Swimsuit and Towel
Picnic Lunch
Cash for on-board refreshments
Sunscreen & Sunglasses

Guest safety is our priority and cancellations due to weather conditions are rare. Cruises will proceed as scheduled in light rain and other mild weather conditions as we have the option to fully enclose our vessel to accommodate most weather conditions.


In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a cruise due to extreme weather or for safety reasons, a full refund will be issued if an alternate date cannot be arranged.
Our Island Getaway and Afternoon Getaway tours have two island stops with opportunity to discover and explore some of New Zealands most unfrequented beaches.
The Bay of Islands is full of marine life, and dolphins are often spotted on our cruises. We encourage and support the conservation of all wildlife by observing from afar without disturbing their natural behaviours and environment.


There is always a possible chance of spotting dolphins, whales, penguins, sharks, New Zealand Dotterel, Australasian Gannets and various other Bay of Islands unique wildlife

Yes! On board our vessels we have a marine toilet.

**Boat Cruise & Island Tours
Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative date or full refund
Cancellations made within 3 days (72 hours) of departure date will forfeit 100% of the trip cost.

**Private Charters:
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the charter. Full payment is due at least 7 days prior to departure.
Private Charter cancellations made within 72 hours of departure date will forfeit 100% of the trip cost.

**Water Taxi Service:
Due to organising schedules, all water taxi bookings are non-refundable.

*Please ensure you are at your departure location at least 10 minutes before your departure time, as the boats will be unable to delay departures.
*Dates for bookings are not able to be ‘held’ until payment/deposits have been made.
*As New Zealand weather often changes, please bring appropriate clothing – we operate in all weather conditions, providing it is safe to do so.
*If cancellations are made due to safety reasons, Sea Shuttle Bay of Islands will issue a full refund if an alternative date cannot be arranged.
